"Jahada" Cherie Lamae Jones

"jahada" Cherie Lamae (Mason) Jones, 59, of Baltic Street, Attleboro, peacefully passed away at her home on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 with her beloved wife, Shirley Ann Jones, to whom she was married on April 26, 2006, at her side. Born in Modesto, CA on June 29, 1956, she was a daughter of Jim Mason and Cora L. (Akins) Mason. She was a graduate of Tracy High School in California, and received her Associate of Science Degree from ITT Technical Institute. Before moving to Massachusetts, Cherie was employed as a Web Developer for more than twenty years for Analog Devices, Inc. in San Jose, CA. She was an active member of the Providence Presbyterian Church, and delighted in hiking, walking, biking, travelling, movies, and Buddhist retreats. She was a friend of Bill. Most especially, though, Cherie loved simply spending time with Shirley. In addition to her wife, she is survived by her sisters: Bettie D. Sims and Delilah Mason, both of CA; two brothers: Rudy C. Mason and his wife, Judy Mason, of CA, and Jimmie L. Mason and his wife, Sunseaah R. (Branscomb) Mason of AZ; her mother-in-law, Gracie Jones of Boston, MA; two brothers-in-law, Bobby Jones of Boston and Allen Jones of MD; her sisters-in-law, Laurel Cannon, Anne Jones, Phyllis Jones, and Elisha Williams; several nieces and nephews; four god-children; her "Best Buddy", Cynthia Douglas; and her cherished companions, "Vision", "Sappho" and "Santana". She also leaves her nephew Nathan J. Mason and sister-in-law, Vicki J. Mack, her extended family, and many dear friends She was the sister of the late Terry Mason, James Mason and Perry Mason. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend Visitation on Saturday, August 8, 2015 from 12:00 Noon-1:00 p.m. at the Providence Presbyterian Church, 500 Hope Street, Providence, RI 02906 Relatives and friends are welcome to attend the Funeral Service immediately following visitation on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the Providence Presbyterian Church, 500 Hope Street, Providence, RI 02906, Rev. Christine Foster, officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to any Alcoholics Anonymous organization, or bring your favorite dish as friends and family celebrate Cherie's life with food and fellowship following services.
