Jacqueline Bachand-Devillers

Jacqueline Bachand-Devillers, 86, of Seekonk, MA, peacefully passed away on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at her home. She was the beloved wife of the late Gerard Devillers who died in 1999.Born on August 16, 1930 in Pawtucket, RI, she was the daughter of the late Armand Bachand and the late Lucette (Gamache) BachandJacqueline was a graduate of St. Jean the Baptist Academy in Pawtucket, RI, Class of 1947. A Professional Musician, she studied music at various conservatories in Paris, France, and later taught music, including piano, recorder and voice in France, at the Rhode Island Philharmonic Music School, the Wheeler School music program, and the Rhode Island Conservatory of Music. She was a Chorale Director for the Chorale of Alliance Francaise and Make We Music Ensemble in Providence, RI.A resident of Seekonk for the last sixteen years, she previously lived in France.In addition to her love of music, the arts, and teaching, Jacqueline was an advocate for animals and the environment.She was the sister of Claudette A. Bachand of Seekonk, MA.Visitation has respectfully been omitted.Burial will be private.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jacqueline's memory to Winslow Farms Animal Sanctuary, 37 Eddy Street, Norton, MA 02766.
