Jacqualyn Alyn (Giles) Pedini, 86, of Westwood, MA passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 5, 2020 at Madonna Manor Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitative Care with her adoring family by her side. She was the beloved wife of William Joseph Pedini, to whom she was happily married on February 7, 1953 in Mansfield, MA.
Born in Attleboro, MA on December 12, 1933, she was the daughter of the late George William Giles and the late Helen (Wood) Giles. Mrs. Pedini was a longtime resident of Mansfield, MA where she was raised and where she also raised her own family before moving to North Attleboro where she lived for many years before retiring to Westwood, MA. A woman of strong faith, Jacqualyn was a communicant of St. Mary's Church, Mansfield and St. Margaret Mary Church, Westwood. She was a graduate of Mansfield High School - Class of 1950.
After high school, Jacqualyn went on to obtain her Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education from Wheelock College. She was a teacher at her own school, Walnut Acres Kindergarten, for many, many years. She later was the administrative secretary to her son in law, Dick, at his company corporate office of Honey Dew Associates in Plainville, MA.
Above all else, Jacqualyn's favorite times were those spent in the company of her family, especially her beloved grandchildren, creating lifelong memories to cherish. She was a member of the Garden Club in Westwood and the Catholic Woman's Club in Mansfield. In her free time, she enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, painting, playing the piano and writing poetry.
In addition to her husband of 67 years, she leaves six children: Susanne Bowen and her husband, Richard Bowen, of Norwell, MA (granddaughters Tracie, Amanda, Kara and Jennifer); Paul Pedini and his companion, Tina Petricca, of Lincoln, MA (grandchildren Nicholas, Marina and Ariana); Christen Pedini and his wife, Alev Pedini, of Scituate, MA (grandchildren Emerson, Alicia and Cairde); John Pedini of Quincy, MA; Andrea Pedini of Westwood, MA (grandson Andrew) and Mark Pedini of Seattle, WA (granddaughter Neko); her sister, Helena Souza of Mansfield, MA; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends. She was the sister of the late Arnold Giles and Sandra Hurd and sister-in-law of the late Joseph Souza.
All services for Jacqualyn will be privately held.
