Jack Joseph Bush

Jack Joseph Bush, 85, of Allen Avenue, South Attleboro, passed away at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro on Thursday, July 9, 2015. He was the loving husband of Debra Anne (Schnetzler) Bush, to whom he was married for more than 21 years. Born in Norwood, OH on June 18, 1930, he was the son of the late John William Bush and Catherine (Seidling) Bush. Jack was a proud veteran of the United States Navy, having served for 22 years, and retiring from military service in 1969. He was a graduate of Roger Williams University. He was a life member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks - Lodge 1014 in Attleboro, MA. Jack retired as Health Agent for the Town of North Attleboro in 1991 after many years of service. He found enjoyment in watching history programs, sports, fervently following the news, and delighted in the simple pleasure of the Honey Dew coffee crew. Jack also enjoyed travel, especially to Hawaii. Above all, Jack will be remembered for his love of family. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his beloved children: Jack C. Bush and his wife, Karen, of Falls Church, VA, Michael J. Bush and his wife Susan H. , of Narragansett, RI, and Jason P. Johnson of Joplin, MO; as well as his six cherished grandchildren: Ian, Stephen, Emma, Allysa, Ayden, and Julianna. Jack also leaves behind a cherished sister, Catherine Emmel of Kilgore, TX; and sister-in-law, Carol S. Bush of Goodrich, MI, who was pre-deceased by Jack's brother, William A. Bush. Jack also enjoyed and will be greatly missed by numerous niece and nephews; his true and faithful companion, "Scarlet," several grand-dogs, and many dear friends. A memorial visitation with Veteran's Honors will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2015 from 1:00 - 5:00 PM in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right, mile on the left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. Burial will be private.
