Irene Alice (Fagnand) Richardson, 90, of Attleboro, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at Life Care Center of Attleboro in Attleboro, MA. She was the beloved wife of the late William Andrew Richardson who died on September 14, 1976.Born on March 6, 1927 in Attleboro, she was the daughter of the late Henry Fagnand and the late Rose (Stone) Fagnand.Irene was a lifelong resident of Attleboro and graduated from Attleboro High School, Class of 1946. She treasured her roles as Homemaker, Wife and Mother, and also enjoyed working as a Sales Clerk for the former Atherton's Furniture Company and the former Metals and Controls, Inc. businesses in Attleboro. She was a proud and active member of the Theta Beta Chapter of Sigma Phi Gamma Sorority. Irene was a volunteer at Sturdy Memorial Hospital and an Usher at the Providence Performing Arts Center. Her greatest pride and joy came from her cherished family, with whom she loved spending time, especially on Cape Cod at her family's beachfront summer home in Sandwich built by her late husband. She enjoyed knitting, watching soap operas, rooting for her Red Sox and Patriots, and Tole painting in her younger years. Her warmth, love, and enthusiasm will be missed by all who knew Irene.She was the loving mother of William "Rick" Andrew Richardson, Jr., and his wife, Nancy A. Richardson, of Mansfield, MA; Jeffrey C. Richardson and his wife, Linda S. Richardson, of North Attleboro, MA, and Todd R. Richardson and his partner, Linda M. Dart, of Attleboro, MA. She was the adored and adoring grandmother of Sarah J. Fey, Edmund T. Richardson, Jeffrey W. Richardson, Joelle M. Richardson, and great-grandmother of Maxwell Robert Fey, Emma Riley Fey, and Nolan W. Richardson. Irene was the sister of the late Henry Fagnand and the late Barbara (Fagnand) DeCoste. She leaves several nieces and nephews and her extended family.Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a Visitation on Friday, May 19, 2017 from 9:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. at Evangelical Covenant Church, 841 North Main Street, Route 152, Attleboro. A Funeral Service following at 11:30 a.m. A time of fellowship and refreshment will immediately follow in Fellowship Hall.
