Irene Marie Knowles

Irene Marie (Maigret) Knowles, 90, of North Attleboro, passed away on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 in Raynham, MA. She was the beloved wife of the late Clifford Earl Knowles, who died in March 1955. Born on August 17, 1925 in New Britain, CT, she was the daughter of the late Donald W. Maigret and Jeannette (Geoffroy) Maigret.A resident of North Attleboro, MA for more than sixty years, Irene was a graduate of Pawtucket (RI) High School. She worked for more than thirty years as a Line Assignor and Trainer for New England Telephone, having previously worked at Sears and Roebuck Co.Irene was a member of St. Mary's Church in North Attleboro, MA. Her greatest love and source of joy was her family. She enjoyed travel with "the girls", crocheting, the Plainville Live Y'ers, trips to Foxwoods, playing slot machines and scratch lottery tickets, eating cookies, and time spent at the North Attleboro Council of Aging. She is survived by her dear children: Douglas J. Knowles, and his companion, Roberta L. Pinto, of Taunton, MA; and David C. Knowles and his wife, Kely J.(Charlbois) Knowles of Orleans, MA. She was the adoring grandmother of Adrien, Justin, Dillon, Chelcey, and Jessica; the treasured great-grandmother of Henry, Marcus and Corbin; and leaves several nieces and nephews. Irene was the beloved mother of the late Jacqueline Ann Knowles, and the sister of the late Constance Maigret, the late Donald Maigret, the late Therese Maigret, and the late Eugene Maigret. She was dear companion and friend of the late Carl Erickson.Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a Memorial Visitation on Thursday, March 31, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, ¾ mile on left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro.Friends and family are invited to attend a Funeral Service immediately following visitation on Thursday, March 31, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA.Children's room available during visitation and funeral services.
