Irene J. (Costello) Adley, 69, of North Attleboro, died at her residence on Monday, September 28, 2020. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert Charles Adley to whom she was married on August 7, 2001 and who died on December 16, 2019.
Born in Boston, MA on July 10, 1951, she was a daughter of immigrant parents, her dad from Ireland and her mother from Cuba. She was predeceased by her parents, the late Joseph D. Costello and the late Isabelle G. Costello.
A resident of North Attleboro for the past 20 years, she previously resided in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Boston.
She loved and treasured the time spent in the kitchen, especially preparing traditional Cuban cuisine.
Irene was always thinking of others in her personal and professional life. She had been employed as a case manager and was a cook instructor at the Pine Street Inn in Boston teaching life skill training to individuals attempting to break their addiction habits and find housing after homelessness. She had a kind heart that was demonstrated last year when she purchased flowers for a veteran's funeral who had no family as she was, at that time, experiencing the loss of her own veteran husband.
She loved animals, enjoyed sewing and was an ardent reader.
Irene leaves her sister-in-law: Charlotte E. (Adley) McKay or Norwood.
