Ilse Emilie Pacheco

Ilse Emilie (Rau) (Murphy) Pacheco 91, passed away on Friday, June 18, 2021, at the Madonna Manor in North Attleboro, MA.  She was the widow of the late Joseph Patrick Murphy who died in 1967, and the late Jose V. Pacheco who died in 2004.  After living with the dreadful effects of dementia for many years, she is now at peace.
Born in Stuttgart, Germany in 1929, she was the daughter of the late Heinrich and Emilie (Buck) (Rau) Grissmer.  She was raised and educated in her native Germany.
During World War II she met her future husband, Joseph P. Murphy, a United States soldier, and they married in Stuttgart. Ilse traveled to America via a transport ship along with other war brides and Joseph returned with his fellow soldiers aboard a military ship.
Ilse held several jobs over the years while raising her beloved son, Joe.  She worked in Attleboro's jewelry factories prior to finding her passion for sales as an employee at Miller's Department Store. She was proud to travel to New York City as a Buyer for the store. She later worked at Texas Instruments, where she was recognized for her success selling Fuller Brush products and was given the opportunity to recruit her own team of sales staff.
Her greatest pride was as a mother and grandmother and, in her later years, "Omi" enjoyed spending time with family, cooking, shopping, and taking trips to the Cape Cod Canal, George's Coney Island in Worcester, MA, and Old Orchard Beach in Maine.
Ilse is survived by her son, Joseph "Joe" H. Murphy of Attleboro, MA; her grandchildren: Beth (Brendon) McLean; Michael (Alyssa) Murphy, and Laurie Murphy; and her great-grandchildren: Bridget, Katharine, Julianna, and James.  She is also survived by her brothers: Walter (Ruth) Rau and Heinrich Rau, both of Germany.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend Visitation on Thursday, June 24, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA.
Family and friends are cordially invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, June 25, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, North Main Street, Attleboro, MA.
Burial will be private.
Following services an invitation will be extended to join the family for a time of continued fellowship and refreshments.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Ilse's name may be made to the Madonna Manor Resident Activities Fund, 85 North Washington Street, North Attleboro, MA 02760 or to the Community VNA - Home Health Care, 10 Emory Street, Attleboro, MA 02703.
