Ida Parker

Ida Coburn (Thomas) Parker, 93, of Attleboro, MA passed away peacefully on February 14, 2022, at the HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center in Providence, RI.  She was the wife of the late Frank Sherwood Parker, Jr. to whom she was married on April 7, 1951, and who entered eternal rest on September 29, 2009.
Born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island on November 19, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Charles Thomas and the late Alice P. (Boott) Thomas.  Mrs. Parker was raised and educated in the City of Pawtucket, RI where she was a graduate of the former Pawtucket West High School.  She later attended classes at the Rhode Island School of Design.
An accomplished artist, early in her career she hand painted glassware for "Fylvia" and later preferred to paint in watercolors and oils and worked extensively with the clay medium.
She primarily was a devoted and dedicated homemaker to her husband and four children and cherished the times spent with generations of family members over the years.
A resident of the City of Attleboro since 1964, she previously resided in Cumberland, RI and Pawtucket, RI.
A woman with a "green thumb", she enjoyed times working in and cultivating her gardens where she "always had something in bloom" and knew the scientific and common name for almost every species.
She had a love for travel that included visiting her cousin in Colorado, going to Nova Scotia, enjoying a family Alaskan cruise, trips to Cancun and recently being taken on a "magical mystery tour" every Wednesday by her daughters, Carol, and Nancy.
Mrs. Parker enjoyed times spent at the Rev. Gordon N. Larson Senior Center in Attleboro where she enjoyed being in their show performances as an actor and part of the chorus.
Left to mourn her loss are her four children: Carol (Parker) Cotoia and her husband, Domenic Cotoia, of Attleboro, MA; Nancy (Parker) Gomes and her husband, Manuel Gomes, of Attleboro, MA; Patricia (Parker) Priem and her husband, Randie Priem, of Long Prairie, Minnesota and Eric Parker and his wife, Barbara Van Gorder Parker, of Charlestown, MA; seven grandchildren: Joshua Hernandez and his wife, Ruby, of McAllen, Texas; Jason Hernandez and his wife, Nicole, of Attleboro, MA; Roland "Corky" Bombardier and his wife, Meredith, of Attleboro, MA; Christopher Bombardier and his wife, Lori, of Attleboro, MA; Nicholas Parker and his companion, Farina Brown, of Anchorage, Alaska; Jamie Bombardier of Plainville, MA; and Emily Parker of Charlestown, MA; ten great grandchildren: Darren, Dylan and Darrylan Hernandez all of McAllen, Texas; Tigin and Ruth Bombardier of Attleboro, MA; Abby, Vicky, and Will Plizga of Attleboro, MA and Mia and Max Bombardier of Attleboro, MA; a brother: David Thomas and his wife, Lucille, of Pawtucket, RI and extended family and friends.
She was the sister of the late Alice Denerley and her late husband, Alan Denerley.
