Ida Denis

Ida (Parente) Denis, 87, of Attleboro, MA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 9, 2018 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro and became an Angel. She was the beloved wife of John Joseph Denis Sr., to whom she was married on July 10, 1949.Born on February 24, 1931 in Beneveto Telese, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Giovanni and Anna (Varone) Parente. She came to the United States in 1951 as a war bride, and was a resident of Attleboro for the past sixty-seven years. Ida treasured her role as a homemaker, wife, and mother, and was a woman of great faith and devotion. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Church in Attleboro. Ida loved cooking - having lovingly taught her children to cook; and delighted in playing Bingo, where she met many friends including Jan, Pam, and Mariela. She was an avid fan of the Red Sox, the Patriots, and Tom Brady. More than anything, she simply loved spending time with her dearest husband and her loving family.In addition to her husband, John, she leaves her cherished children: Leslie J. Baptist of Attleboro; John Joseph Denis Jr., of Pascoag, RI; Michael G. Denis of Attleboro and Vero Beach, FL; Elizabeth "Bette" A. Cataldo of Attleboro; Mark J. Denis of Rehoboth, MA; and Stephanie J. McMahon of Attleboro. She was the proud grandmother of Aimee, Jason, Christopher, Corey, Maggie, Erica, Nicholas, Kyle, Emily, Olivia, Ella, and the late Michael George Dias; and the adoring great-grandmother of Greyson, Nolen, and Kye. Ida was one of nine children and leaves her dear siblings in both Italy and England.
