Hy Lay

Hy Lay, 92, of Cranston, RI, passed away on November 19, 2024, at Kent Hospital in Warwick, RI. He was the husband of Kim Mui (Sao) Lay.

Born in Phnom Penh, Cambodia on April 12, 1932, he was a son of the late Veng Chea and the late Siv Moa Lim.

Mr. Lay was a small business entrepreneur in the jewelry industry who enjoyed spending time at the temple.

In addition to his wife, he leaves his children: Sophan Lay, Siphon Lay, Nawee Heng, Natalie Shae, Stephon Lay and "Thong" Pisith; his grandchildren: Jonathan Lay, Timothy Lay, William Lay, Vivian Lay, Vincent Lay, Nathan Heng, Michael Heng, Anthony Heng, Chrisna Chea, Elysha Sameth, Christina Seth, Charany Seth, Jimmy Seth, Punthanut Pisith and Nutnaphan Pisith; his sister: Seam Lay and nephews: Kheang Yim Li and Yim Hi Lay.

Traditional Buddhist services will commence on Monday, December 2, 2024, beginning at 9:30 am.

Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery, North Attleboro, MA.
