Howard Frederick Gerard Issler, 51, of South Attleboro, MA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 28, 2019 at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, RI.
Born on September 25, 1967 in Attleboro, MA, he was the son of Janet Madeline (Cole) Issler and the late Howard V. Issler.
A graduate of Seekonk High School, Class of 1985, he was employed as the Service Manager for Cerrone Chevrolet Buick GMC in South Attleboro, and previously for ten years as the Assistant Service Manager for Elmwood Auto Group in East Providence, RI.
A resident of South Attleboro for the past five years, he formerly lived in Johnston, RI.
Howard was an avid fan of the New England Patriots and proud season ticket holder. He was a terrific cook who enjoyed watching cooking shows and made the most delicious meatballs. To his childhood friends, he was affectionately known as "Pokey". More than anything, he cherished his role as a father, being actively involved in their lives and events, and volunteering as a youth coach. He also held a special place in his heart for his cat, "Kolby".
Howard was the loving father of Fallon Y. Issler and her wife, Kelly Issler, of Smithfield, RI; Edward M. Issler of North Providence, RI; and Kristopher H. Issler of North Providence, RI. He was the dear brother of Michael S. Issler and his wife, Donna M. (Charette) Issler, of Woonsocket, RI; and Brenda L. Verdoia and her husband, James J. Verdoia, of South Attleboro, MA. He leaves several nieces and nephews and many dear friends. Howard was the former husband of Margaret Issler-Young of Smithfield, RI, and Kymberly K. (Toohey) Issler of North Providence, RI.
