Herman Steven Arns, lovingly known as “Sonny”, passed away peacefully on February 9, 2025. He was the beloved husband of Deborah (Zaino) Arns to whom he married on April 23, 1966.
Sonny was born on his grandfather’s farm, Weiss Ellis Road Dairy, in North Attleboro, on November 14, 1941. He was the son of the August Arns, Sr. and late Esther (Weiss) Arns. Sonny spent most of his life as a resident of North Attleboro. He graduated from North Attleboro High School in 1960. And went on to attend Bryant College where he earned a degree in marketing. Steve built a successful career as a sales manager in the food industry, where he was known for his dedication, integrity, and leadership.
Sonny’s happiest moments were traveling with his wife, tinkering in his workroom in his barn, and spending quality time with family and friends in the Village of Popponesset. His warmth, humor, and generosity will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Sonny’s family was the center of his world, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
In addition to his wife Deborah, he leaves his loving children: Stephanie Albertini and her husband, Matthew Albertini, of North Attleboro, MA and Christopher Arns and his wife, Mallie Arns, of Birmingham, Alabama. His legacy lives on through his four loving grandchildren: Brielle Albertini, Luke Albertini, Olivia Arns and Henry Arns. He will also be missed by his extended family including his sister-in-law: Justina Barrett of Wareham, MA and many nieces and nephews.
Herman is predeceased by his sisters: Alice Belville, Alma Blanchard, and June Clavette and his brother: August Arns Jr.
Family and friends are cordially invited to attend Visitation on Thursday, February 13, 2025, from 10:00 am until 11:00 am in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 am in the "Memorial Chapel".
Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery and Arboretum, Mount Hope Street, North Attleboro, MA.
Following graveside services an invitation will be extended to join the family for a time of continued fellowship and refreshments at a location to be announced.
