Henrietta Marie (Pendergast) Tannock, 80, of Hillcrest Drive, Attleboro, died on Thursday, April 10, 2008 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro following a three week illness. She was the wife of William James Tannock to whom she was married on January 30, 1965. Born in New London, Connecticut on April 12, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Olive (Sears) Pendergast. She resided in Norton prior to moving to Attleboro in 1955. Prior to residing in Norton, Mrs. Tannock lived in Warwick, Rhode Island where she was raised and educated. Mrs. Tannock was a communicant of Holy Ghost Church, Attleboro. A dedicated and devoted homemaker to her family, she held several various jobs outside the home but primarily served her family as a loving wife and mother. She adored St. Jude and would often pray to the faithful servant and friend of Jesus. Since a young age, she was a frequent donor to the St. Jude?s Children?s Hospital in Tennessee. Mrs. Tannock was a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion in Attleboro. A lifelong lover of music, she enjoyed playing the piano. Her greatest joy and satisfaction came from the love she gave her children and in later years, her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and the love they returned to her. All that met her made an instant friend and her family lovingly recalls her charismatic personality that would often have her conversing with longtime and new friends alike. In addition to her husband of 43 years, she leaves five children: Joseph J. Wilson of Attleboro; Joyce M. O?Brien of Seekonk; Frank James Lopes of North Attleboro; Jason Marc Tannock of Attleboro and Tammy Lynne Dugas of Sutton, New Hampshire; eight grandchildren: Blayne Dalton, Jason Tannock, Jimmy Wilson, Cindy Meyers, Amanda and Jessica Dugas and Dawn and Justin McPherson; 12 great grandchildren; two brothers: Robert Pendergast in Florida and Richard E. Green in Vermont and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings: Rita, Johanna, Russell, Roland, Charles, Jimmy, George, Joseph, Walter and Mary. John Raposo, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in St. John?s Cemetery, Attleboro. Following graveside services an invitation will be extended to join the family for a time of fellowship and refreshment at a location to be announced.
