Helene J. (Ilkowitz) Cameron, 77, of Towne Street, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, entered peacefully into eternal rest on Monday, June 22, 2015 at the Maples Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Wrentham after having been surrounded by loved ones during her final days. She was the former wife of the late Willard "Duke" E. Cameron who died on April 7, 2005. Born in Attleboro, Massachusetts on September 27, 1937, she was a daughter of the late William R. Ilkowitz, Sr. and Pearl (Holcomb) Ilkowitz Horski. She was the stepdaughter of the late Stanley Horski. Helene was a lifelong resident of North Attleboro and was a 1955 graduate of North Attleboro High School. She was employed as a supervisor for Johnson & Johnson in Westwood and Raynham for more than ten years prior to her retirement. Helene was a communicant of St. Mark Roman Catholic Church in Attleboro Falls. In earlier years, she attended the First Congregational "Oldtown" Church in North Attleboro where she was a member of the church choir. Her favorite pastimes included gardening and performing yard work around her home. She was a devoted fan of the New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox. She had a lifelong love for music, singing and enjoyed dancing, particularly the jitterbug. Helene will be lovingly remembered for being devoted to her family and friends. Their many cherished memories will keep her alive in their hearts forever. She leaves four children: Lori C. Rodericks and her husband, Robert C. Rodericks, of Norton; Glenn J. Cameron and his wife, Jodi Cameron, of Newtown, Connecticut; Gary A. Cameron and his wife, Jacqueline M. Cameron, of Rockville Center, New York and Derek P. Cameron and his wife, Danielle J. Sutton, of North Attleboro; eight grandchildren: Colton and Bauer Cameron, Aislin Rodericks, Trevor and Austin Cameron and Aidan, Emily and Caroline Cameron; three sisters: Martha L. Murray, Nancy E. Martin and Wanda Horski all of North Attleboro; many nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends. She was the sister of the late William R. Ilkowitz, Jr. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation on Thursday, June 25, 2015 from 4:00 - 8:00 PM in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend the Funeral Service on Friday, June 26, 2015 at 8:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Mark Roman Catholic Church, 105 Stanley Street, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro with the Rev. Thomas A. Frechette, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, West Street, Attleboro. Children's room available during visitation and while the funeral cortege is being organized. Following cemetery services an invitation will be extended to join the family for a time of continued fellowship and refreshments at a location to be announced.
