Helen Louise (Joyce) Haughey, R.N. 81, of North Attleboro, MA went home to the Lord peacefully at the Garden Place Healthcare in Attleboro, MA on Friday, October 15, 2021. She was the wife of the late John Haughey who passed on February 18, 2011.
Born in Boston, MA on December 18, 1939, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Joyce and the late Mary (Regan) Joyce. Raised and educated in Boston, Mrs. Haughey was a 1957 graduate of the Archbishop Cushing Central High School in South Boston and was a 1960 graduate of the Boston City Hospital School of Nursing.
She was employed for more than 20 years as a registered nurse at Braintree Rehabilitation Hospital prior to her retirement.
Mrs. Haughey was a resident of the North Attleboro - Attleboro area for the past 8 years having previously resided in Milton, MA and Ossipee, New Hampshire.
While living in Massachusetts, she was a communicant of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in North Attleboro, MA.
Mrs. Haughey enjoyed traveling throughout the world, time spent at the North Attleboro Senior Center and creating family memories at the lake home in Ossipee, New Hampshire.
An animal lover, she recently lost her canine companion, "Brady".
Her survivors include two children: John "Jack" J. Haughey and his wife, Stephanie M. (Linton) Haughey, formerly of North Attleboro, MA now residing in Ossipee, New Hampshire and Maureen A. Barker and her husband, Michael E. Barker, of Franklin, MA; her cherished grandchildren: Shannon I. Haughey, Shane M. Haughey, Sean J. Haughey, Tyler M. Barker, Alexandra Barker and Aidan Barker and numerous nieces, nephews and many many dear friends.
She was the sister of the late Mary McCarty, Virginia Joyce, Ann Flaherty, Joseph Joyce, and Dorothy Joyce.
Family and friends are cordially invited to attend Visitation on Friday, October 22, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA.
A funeral service will commence at the conclusion of the visitation at 11:00 a.m. in the "Memorial Chapel".
Private burial will be held in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, MA where she will be buried with her beloved husband.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mrs. Haughey's name may be made to the Friends of the North Attleboro Senior Center, 204 Elm Street, North Attleboro, MA 02760.
