Harshad Arvind Patel

Harshad Arvind Patel, 44, of Taunton, MA, passed away on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, MA after fighting a long battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of Rakshita Patel.Born on November 16, 1973 in India, he was the dear son of Arvindbhai M. Patel and Sarojben Patel of Chepachet, RI.A graduate of Lyman Hall High School in Wallingford, CT, and the CT School of Electronics, Harshad was employed as a Fire Alarm Technician by the Cintas Corporation.Harshad ("Rico") was known as the life of the party and his mission was to spread love and make each and every person he encountered, laugh. He had the biggest heart and was the most generous person anyone could meet. He was the type of person to welcome a stranger to his home and treat them like one of his own. Even while battling cancer, he made sure to keep in touch with family and friends, near and far. He enjoyed music, movies, travel, and was a food enthusiast. More than anything, he especially loved being with his family and his cherished children.In addition to his wife and parents, he leaves his children: Rena (13), Alysha (12), and Rehan (9), all of Taunton, MA. He was the older brother to Priyanka Saidha of Franklin, MA, and Parul Patel of Berlin, CT, and leaves several nieces and nephews and many dear friends.Family and friends are invited to attend a Hindu service on Friday, February 23, 2018, gathering at 10:00 a.m. in the Commonwealth Chapel of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Ave., Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro.To celebrate Harshad's life, we kindly ask you to wear colorful clothing, his favorite color was red and he was a big Patriots fan.A short prayer service will follow at 12:30 p.m. at Woodlawn North Purchase Crematory, Attleboro, MA for immediate family members.At 2:00 p.m. there will be a gathering at the family residence: 14 Garnet Drive, Franklin, MA, for family and friends.
