Harry James Brenner, Sr., 67, of Attleboro, MA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 surrounded by his loving family at home. He was the beloved husband of Alayne (Gale) Brenner for thirty-two years. Born on September 25, 1949 in Long Branch, NJ, he was the son of the late Alice Fisk. Raised and educated on the Jersey Shore, he was a graduate of Asbury Park High School, Class of 1967. He proudly and honorably served our country in the United States Navy before beginning a successful career in the convenience store industry. Harry was the former Chief Operating Officer and President of Cumberland Farms, having retired after an extraordinary career in an industry where he provided endless value.A resident of the Attleboro and North Attleboro area for the past thirty-one years, he enjoyed the past eight years watching his grandchildren grow and playing fantasy sports against his son and son-in-law. He was an ardent fan of the New York Yankees and a voracious reader, reading anything he could get his hands on, and as many as four hundred books a year. Harry loved his family as fiercely as any man ever has, and truly cherished spending time with them.In addition to his wife, he leaves his devoted children: Jennifer R. (Brenner) Brillon and her husband, Shawn B. Brillon, of North Attleboro, MA; Harry James Brenner, Jr., of Chicago, IL; Zachary R.A. Brenner of Chicago, IL; and Sarah R. (Brenner) De La Cruz and her husband, Hector A. De La Cruz, of Attleboro, MA. He was the adoring and amazing grandfather to Ty and Lucas Brillon of North Attleboro, MA; and Miranda, Taylor, and Gavin De La Cruz of Attleboro, MA. Harry was a wonderful brother to Linda Bruhn of FL, Cathy Smyth of PA, Ray Fisk of FL, and Lisa Spann of FL, as well as to the late Bobby Fisk. He leaves several nieces and nephews and many dear friends.Family and friends are invited to honor and remember Harry's life by gathering for a Visitation on Friday, June 2, 2017 from 12:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA.Friends and relatives are cordially invited to attend a Funeral Service immediately following visitation on Friday, June 2, 2017 at 2:30 p.m. in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA.
