Guistino T. "Sonny" Marsella, 80, of Gibson Road, Lexington, South Carolina; formerly of Attleboro and North Attleboro; died peacefully at the Lexington Medical Center in Lexington, South Carolina. He was the beloved husband of the late Martha "Lou" (LaCroix) Marsella to whom he was married on September 17, 1955 and who died on February 3, 2006. Born in North Attleboro, MA on January 27, 1935, he was a son of the late Eleuterio and Assunta (Rezza) Marsella. He was raised and educated in North Attleboro where he resided until moving to the City of Attleboro in 1967. He remained a resident of the City of Attleboro until moving to Lexington, South Carolina just over a year ago. Mr. Marsella was a proud veteran having served with the United States Air Force from June 1952 until June 1956 during the Korean War. For more than thirty years he was affiliated with the family business, the Villa Capri Restaurant, in Wrentham. Mr. Marsella was employed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a state lottery auditor for 25 years prior to his retirement in February 1999. He will be lovingly remembered for his big smile, sense of humor and gracious hospitality. "Sonny" was proud of his Italian heritage and was happiest when in the company of family and friends having a delicious meal. Recently to honor his 80th birthday, he made his 15th visit to Disney World in Florida. He was a former communicant of the former St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Attleboro. Mr. Marsella was a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks - Lodge 1014 in Attleboro for almost 50 years and was a member of the American Legion - Post #20, Attleboro. He was an ardent photographer. He leaves his daughter: Susan E. Cloutier and her husband, Robert Cloutier, of Lexington, South Carolina; a son: Justin T. Marsella and his wife, Colleen Marsella, of Alum Bank, Pennsylvania; a daughter-in-law: Deborah Marsella, wife of his late son - Gary Michael Marsella who died in August 2010, of Dracut; 7 grandchildren; a sister: Mary Gaboury of North Attleboro; his companion: Nancy (Curran) Lennox of North Attleboro and several nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends. He was the brother of the late Guistino Marsella, Theresa Colletto, Lena Lucchetti, Anne Wallace, Gene Marsella and Alfred Marsella. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation with Veteran's Honors on Friday, March 6, 2015 from 4:00 - 8:00 PM in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. A ritual service will be conducted by the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks - Lodge 1014 in Attleboro at 6:30 PM during visitation. Family and friends are welcome to attend the funeral with Veteran's Honors on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at 8:45 AM from the Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, Park Street, North Attleboro with the Rev. David A. Costa, Pastor, officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Towne Street, Attleboro Falls. Children's room available during visitation and while the funeral cortege is being organized. Following graveside services an invitation will be extended to join the family for a time of continued fellowship and refreshments at a location to be announced.
