Gregory James Diomandes, 64, of Bellevue Avenue, North Attleboro and West Yarmouth died unexpectedly at his residence on Sunday, May 26, 2013. He was the husband of Nancy J. (Moran) Diomandes to whom he was married for 34 years. Born in Newport, Rhode Island on October 2, 1948, he was a son of the late Damon and Florence (Vouros) Diomandes. He was raised and educated in Newport and graduated from Rogers High School and later earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Providence College. Greg was employed by the former Foxboro Company, now Invensys, as a software engineer from 1978 until his retirement in February. He resided in Newport until moving to North Attleboro in 1984. Greg's favorite pastimes included boating in Lewis Bay, golfing and spending time with family and friends. Greg was an avid New England sports teams fan and a phenomenal poker player. In addition to his wife, he leaves two daughters: Kerry Lynn Diomandes of Waltham and Kelly Moran Diomandes and her fiancé, Christopher J. Wietecha, of Raynham; two brothers: Stephen "Butch" Diomandes of Newport and Kerry R. Diomandes of Newport. Greg also leaves behind his sister in-law Maribeth Moran of Boston; and brother in-law Charles E. Moran of Somerville as well as several extended family members and dear friends. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation on Friday, May 31, 2013 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM in the "Commonwealth Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home located at 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right, mile on the left), Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. Children's room available during visitation. Funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations may be made to Dyer-Lake Charitable Foundation, Inc., a registered 501 (c) 3 organization, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, North Attleboro, MA 02760 to benefit either the Activities Fund at Village House - Newport, RI or to the Bay Cove Harbor House - Boston.
