Grace E. (Jones) Martin, Retired L.P.N., 94, of Park Street, Attleboro, formerly of Brenda Road, Norton, died peacefully at the Life Care Center of Attleboro on Tuesday, August 26, 2014. She was the former wife of the late James W. Martin. Born in Albany, New York on February 29, 1920, she was a daughter of the late John Jason and Hope Margaret (McDonald) Jones. She was a 1937 graduate of North Quincy High School. Mrs. Martin decided on a nursing career after her daughter completed nursing school and was a 1967 graduate of the Quincy Hospital School of Practical Nursing. She was later employed as a licensed practical nurse at Quincy Hospital and in Florida. She resided in Attleboro for the past six years having previously lived in Norton for 25 years. Mrs. Martin was a communicant of St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, Norton. She will be lovingly remembered by her family as a woman of strength, character and love for her cherished family. Her happiest memories were those times spent with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren creating lifelong memories. She was an ardent gardener, a skilled designer and seamstress and loved socializing with family and friends. Mrs. Martin leaves two daughters: Patricia Lee Krawiec and her husband, Dr. Theodore J. Krawiec, of Suffield, Connecticut and Jeanne M. Suydan and her husband, Herbert P. Suydan, of Norton; six grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren, extended family members and many dear friends. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation on Friday, August 29, 2014 from 4:00 - 7:00 PM in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right, mile on the left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. For those in need of a ride to visitation simply call the funeral home directly at 508-695-0200 to make an advance reservation for such gratis transportation. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30AM at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, 330 Pratt Street-Route 106, Mansfield. There will be no public funeral cortege from the funeral home prior to the commencement of the Funeral Mass. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Mansfield. Following cemetery services an invitation will be extended to join the family for a time of continued fellowship and refreshments at a location to be announced. Children's room is available during the visitation and while the funeral cortege is being organized. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mrs. Martin's name may be made to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, PO 849168, Boston, MA 02284 to benefit cancer research.
