Glenn Frederick Wallin, 78, of Attleboro, MA passed away on April 4, 2023, at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, Rhode Island following a brief illness.
Born in Boston, MA on May 27, 1944, he was a son of the late Oscar Frederick Wallin and the late Mabel (Hedlund) Wallin. He was raised and educated in Westwood, MA.
He proudly served in the United States Army from his enlistment on April 8, 1965, until his honorable discharge on April 7, 1968. Mr. Wallin later served many years with the Massachusetts National Guard. He was a member of the Plainville American Legion - Post 217.
Mr. Wallin was employed as a manager for the former M. DiMatteo Construction Company in Braintree for many years prior to his retirement.
A lover of the ocean, he was an avid boater, and his family were longtime members of the Quincy Yacht Club. He treasured his many trips to Aruba.
He leaves his daughter: Susan M. Jones and her husband, Todd C. Jones, of Attleboro, MA and his granddaughter: Samantha E. Jones of East Harlem, New York. He was the former 35-year companion of JoAnne Norek of Middleboro, MA. He also leaves his late sister's husband, John Schuller, of Easton, MA.
Mr. Wallin was the father of the late Karl Frederick Wallin who died on January 11, 2018, and was the brother of the late Lin Wallin Schuller who passed away on March 27, 2023.
Family and friends are cordially invited to attend Glenn's Celebration of Life on Sunday, April 16, 2023, from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 4:00 pm at the conclusion of visitation.
A private committal service with military honors will be held at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, MA.
