Gertrude May (Allen) Bottalico, 87, of Pleasant Street, Attleboro; formerly of Hope Gardens, Park Street, Attleboro and Norris Avenue, Pawtucket, Rhode Island died on Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at the Golden Living Center Garden Place in Attleboro. She was the wife of the late Louis Bottalico who died on March 31, 1986. Born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island on September 3, 1924, she was a daughter of the late Stephen Lee and Gertrude M. (Wilson) Allen. She was raised and educated in Pawtucket and remained a lifelong resident until moving to Attleboro in 2001. Mrs. Bottalico was employed as a retail sales associate having first worked at the former Outlet Company in Providence for ten years then at Burlington Coat Factory in East Providence for 18 years prior to her retirement. Her favorite pastimes included reading, watching television and creating lifelong memories with her family. Her family is forever grateful to the staff of the Golden Living Center Garden Place for the attentive care given over the past few years. She leaves two daughters: Gloria Ann Solomon, wife of the late Robert C. Solomon who died on December 19, 1999, of North Attleboro and Deborah L. Pierce and her husband, Raymond R. Pierce, of North Attleboro; two grandsons: Chad Solomon and his wife, Amy L. (Ashworth) Solomon of North Attleboro and Bret Solomon of North Attleboro. She was the sister of the late Earl Allen. Private visitation and funeral services will be held in the Memorial Chapel of Dyer-Lake Funeral Home the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, mile on left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. Private burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery and Arboretum, North Attleboro.
