Geraldine Ruth (Igo) Mood, 86, of North Attleboro, MA passed away suddenly at her home on Tuesday, April 20, 2021. She was the wife of the late George Austin Mood who died on April 4, 2000.
Born in Cambridge, MA on June 11, 1934, she was one of nine children born to the late Francis Igo Sr. and the late Bridget Lillian (Lucey) Igo. Raised and educated in Cambridge, Geraldine attended Notre Dame Academy in Hingham, MA and was a graduate of Lesley College, where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. She worked for ten years as an Educator in the Burlington, MA school system. A devoted wife and mother, Geraldine was a dedicated homemaker to her family who later worked as a private duty home health care aide.
A woman of strong religious convictions, she was a communicant of the Transfiguration of the Lord Parish - St. Mark in North Attleboro where she was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society. A resident of North Attleboro for the past twenty years, she previously lived in Marlborough, MA from 1961 until 2000. Geraldine enjoyed solving puzzle books and reading. She will be lovingly remembered for her "gift to gab". More than anything, she loved spending time with her family.
She leaves three children: Cheryl Ann Mood of Grafton, MA; George "Kempton" Mood and his wife, Amy R. (Shulz) Mood, of North Attleboro; and Christine Mood Blaisdell of Marlborough, MA. She was the proud and adoring grandmother of Kelsey and Lillian Mood, both of North Attleboro; Kyle and Ryan Blaisdell, both of Marlborough, MA; and Thomas Cormier of Leominster, MA; and two great- grandchildren: Kairi and Alphonse Cormier, both of Leominster, MA. Geraldine was the sister of Lillian Igo of Arlington, MA; Marie Spinale of Arlington, MA; and Sally Bensel of Florida. She leaves numerous nieces, nephews, her extended family, and many dear friends. She was the sister of the late Francis, Igo Sr; Sister Jane Francis Igo, who served with the Sisters of Notre Dame; John "Jackie" Igo; Frederick Igo; and Paul Igo.
With strict adherence to applicable Covid-19 health precautions, including social distancing and the use of facemasks, family and friends are cordially invited to attend Visitation on Monday, April 26, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA.
With strict adherence to applicable Covid-19 health precautions, including social distancing and the use of facemasks, family and friends are cordially invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at the Transfiguration of the Lord Parish - St. Mark, 105 Stanley Street, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. There will be no funeral procession from the funeral home prior to the commencement of the Funeral Mass.
