Geraldine "Gerry" May Grant, 88, of Attleboro, MA passed away following a brief illness on July 23, 2024, at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro, MA.
Born in Brockton, MA on October 15, 1935, she was a daughter of the late Frederick Grant and the late Grace Grant.
Although life presented some challenges for Gerry, she was one of the most positive, optimistic woman most people ever met. Her laughter and smiles will be forever missed by those close to her. In later years, she was fortunate to have some independence.
In earlier years, she was a daycare attendant at Wrentham Developement Center.
She celebrated her faith with her caregivers, friends and church family at the Fruit of the Spirit Mission Church, Attleboro.
Although not a mother herself, she had a natural maternal instinct and love for children and one of her favorite pastimes was watching baby videos. She also enjoyed karaoke which became known as "gerryaoke", spending time with her caregivers and friends who were loved like family, creating craft projects, loved time spent on FaceTime, traveling and getting her nails and hair done.
Left to mourn her loss are her loving housemates: Lauretta, Susan and Cindy; her devoted caregivers and her family, including: her niece: Grace DiOrio; great nephews and niece: Anthony LaFauci, Albert LaFauci and Christina Zalaket and her husband, James, and a great great nephew: Dominic Zalaket and many friends that Gerry has as she touched the lives of everyone she met.
She was the sister of the late Effie Grant.
All are warmly welcome to attend Vistitation on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, from 10:00 - 11:00 am in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Atttleboro, MA followed by aFuneral Service at 11:00 am in the "Memorial Chapel".
Burial will follow in Newell Burying Ground, South Attleboro, MA.
