George Henry Letendre

George Henry Letendre, 71, of North Attleboro, MA, passed away on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston, MA. He was the beloved husband of Carol (Levrault) Letendre, to whom he was married on February 7, 1970.
Born on March 14, 1947 in Fall River, MA, he was the son of the late George Edward Letendre and the late Irene (Valcourt) Letendre.
George was raised and educated in Fall River, and received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Southeastern Massachusetts University in 1972, and his Master's degree in Education from Fitchburg State College in 1974. As an Educator, he worked for Diman Regional Vocational Technical High School, Bristol Community College, Tri-County Regional Vocational Technical High School, the North Attleboro School System, Y.R.A. Community School, Johnson & Wales University, and the Brotherhood Center.
George proudly and honorably served our country in the United States Marines Infantry Company during the Vietnam War, and was awarded the Purple Heart for his valor.
A resident of North Attleboro since 1983, he attended Sacred Heart Church.
George was a warm, caring, and gentle man of faith, who enjoyed camping, cruises, trips to Disney and visits to the casino. He enjoyed music, playing the guitar, and singing; as well as writing, having written a novel. He was a longtime member of the Disabled American Veterans, Westcott-Houghton Chapter 56 in North Attleboro.
More than anything, George was devoted to his beloved family.
In addition to his wife, Carol, he leaves his loving children: Dean Letendre and his wife, Stephanie Letendre, of Attleboro, MA; Joy Packer and her husband, Jason Packer, of North Attleboro, MA; Kurt Letendre and his wife, Danielle Letendre, of Wilmington, NC; and Todd Letendre and his wife, Becky Letendre, of Mansfield, MA.  He was the proud and adoring grandfather of nine grandchildren, and the brother of the late Arnold Letendre.  George leaves many dear friends.
Friends and family are cordially invited to honor and remember George by gathering for a Visitation with Veteran's Honors on Sunday, November 18, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend the Funeral Service on Monday, November 19, 2018 at 8:30 a.m. from the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, North Attleboro, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 58 Church Street, North Attleboro, MA.
Graveside services with Full Military Honors will be held on Monday, November 19, 2018 at 2:30 p.m. in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, MA.
