George Hampton Duley, 91, of Wrentham, MA passed away peacefully on November 3, 2023. Born on June 25, 1932, he was the son of the late George B. Duley and the late Doris (Webber) Duley. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Frances Marie (Mortelli) Duley.
Mr. Duley proudly served his country in both the Massachusetts National Guard and United States Navy. He served aboard the USS Thuban AKA-19 and was an active member of the VFW. He remained patriotic throughout his life, always flying Old Glory off his front porch.
He was formerly employed as a brick layer in the construction industry.
Mr. Duley loved his hometown of Wrentham. He was well known around town and the front porch of his home was a popular gathering place for friends who regularly stopped by to visit.
He would entertain visitors by telling stories and feeding wild birds and chipmunks from his hand. His many hobbies included hunting, fishing, bird watching, bee keeping and vintage Japanese motorcycles. When not entertaining friends on his porch, he could be found tinkering on his treasured motorcycles.
Many cherished friends, neighbors, cousins and extended family members are left to mourn his loss.
A graveside funeral service will be held on Friday, December 1, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. at the Wrentham Centre Cemetery. Mr. Duley was passionate about finding a cure for Celiac's Disease.
