George Deligeorges

June 20, 1933 — December 27, 2020

George Deligeorges, 87, of North Attleboro, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his family on December 27, 2020.  He was the beloved husband of Aphrodite "Becky" (Barochis) Deligeorges to whom he was married on November 23, 1969.
Born on June 20, 1933 in Niantic, CT, he was a son of Greek immigrants - the late Socrates and  Lambrini (Tholo) Deligeorges.
Mr. Deligeorges proudly served his country by serving in the United States Army from 1956 to 1958.
He had a passion for learning and earned master's degree. He had a varied working career, he was as an engineer and physicist for the U.S. Government and in the defense industry for many years, he also had several successful businesses including a restaurant, a laundromat, and a package store.
Mr. Deligeorges resided in North Attleboro for the past 7 years and previously resided in Foxboro, South Easton and Niantic, CT.
George was a sports enthusiast both as an athlete (boxing, football, and track) and as an aficionado, he was an avid fan of UConn women's basketball.  He was a voracious reader and most enjoyed genres that made him think and learn something new, he loved quips and quotes of wit.  He enjoyed the traditions of his Greek culture and religion, he attended St. Gregory the Theologian Greek Orthodox Church in Mansfield, , and was a proud member of the Pindos Epiroti Society.
In addition to his wife of 51 years, he leaves two children: Dr. Socrates George Deligeorges of Boston, MA and Marina Ioanna Deligeorges-Anderson and her husband, Justus Anderson, Jr., of Attleboro, MA; two grandchildren: Calliope Anderson and Justus Anderson III both of Attleboro, MA; two siblings: Basil Deligeorges of Waterford, CT and Aspasea "Sue" Hart of Old Lyme, CT, and several additional extended family members.
Visitation has been respectfully omitted.
With strict adherence to applicable Covid-19 health precautions, including social distancing and the mandatory use of facemasks, a private funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at St. Gregory the Theologian Greek Orthodox Church in Mansfield, MA.
Burial will follow in North Purchase Cemetery, Attleboro, MA.
As an expression of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, memorial donations in his name may be made to St. Gregory the Theologian Greek Orthodox Church, P.O. Box 293, Mansfield, MA 02048.
