Gary D. Hicks, 80, of North Attleboro, MA., passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at Sturdy Memorial Hospital.

Born in Detroit, Michigan, on November 8, 1943, he was the son of the late William and Shirley (Nichols) Hicks, Jr.

He was a graduate of Romeo High School in Romeo, Michigan and served in the Air Force from 1962 to 1966 and later in the Army National Guard. Gary worked for many years in the precious metal industry at Engelhard, Cook Horton and Stern Leach companies. He enjoyed carpentry and doing handyman work for neighbors and friends.

He had many fond memories of his time on the family farm in Romeo, Michigan and would love to share stories of his years there with his brothers and sisters. He cherished time spent with his dog, Fredy and cat, Blue.

He is survived by a loving daughter, Lisa Pappone and her husband Brian of Attleboro and cherished grandchildren, Taylor Pappone and her fiancée, Joshua Cayer of North Attleboro and Jason Pappone of Attleboro. He is also survived by his devoted siblings, Diane Collins of Michigan, Randy Hicks of California, Denny Hicks of California, Jeff Hicks of Illinois, Susan Floyd of Arizona, Kathy VanLiew of Texas, Debbie Partak of Indiana, Becky Dykstra of Indiana and Michael Kray of Indiana.

Services and burial will be private.
