Gail Ann (Boyer) Cain, 63, of Coach Road, Westwood Estates, died on Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at her residence surrounded by her loving family after a six-day illness. She was the loving wife and best friend of John Thomas Cain to whom she was married on June 6, 1970. Born in Worcester, Massachusetts on February 1, 1949, she was a daughter of the late Thomas N. and Alma I. (Dube) Boyer. She was raised and educated in her native community of Worcester where she was a 1967 graduate of Burncoat High School. She later earned her associates degree in business administration from the Community College of Rhode Island. Mrs. Cain was a devoted and dedicated homemaker to her husband, children and grandchildren. Her proudest moments were those when celebrating the success of her family. A resident of North Attleboro for the past ten years, Mrs. Cain previously resided in Warwick, Rhode Island for 26 years. Mr. and Mrs. Cain just completed building another home in Homosassa, Florida where they had planned on creating many lifelong memories to cherish with their family. An ardent knitter, she was a member of the Yarn-It-All Knitting Club in North Attleboro. She enjoyed the times spent exercising at Curves in North Attleboro and later Plainville and more recently in Mansfield. Her life centered on her love for family and when not showering them with her affection she enjoyed reading; attending the theatre, especially the Providence Performing Arts Center and traveling throughout the world with her husband. She and her husband visited countless countries including China, Australia, Japan, Ireland, Italy, France, Spain, London and islands throughout the Caribbean especially St. Thomas. In addition to her husband of almost 42 years, she leaves three children: Christina A. Irons of Warwick, Rhode Island; Jennifer M. Preston and her husband, Michael S. Preston, of Cumberland, Rhode Island and Erin E. Cain and her partner, Kevin McDonough, of Inverness, Florida; four cherished grandchildren: Zachary J. Cain of Inverness, Florida; Hayley E. Preston and Sydney M. Preston both of Cumberland, Rhode Island and Ashley A. Irons of Warwick, Rhode Island; a sister: Joan A. Crowley and her husband, Thomas Crowley, of Pepperell and Sandwich; a brother: Jay Boyer and his wife, Linda (Chronchio) Boyer, of Worcester; a nephew: Adam Crowley of Boston; two nieces: Amanda Boyer and Kayla Boyer both of Worcester and several extended family members and dear friends. She was the aunt of the late Jason Crowley. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend the Funeral Service on Saturday, February 11, 2012 at 10:00 AM in the Memorial Chapel of Dyer-Lake Funeral Home the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, mile on left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro with the Rev. Kenneth Boyle, Pastor of Candleberry Chapel, South Main Street, Attleboro, officiating. Burial will be private. Childrens room available during visitation and the funeral service. Following cemetery services an invitation will be extended to join the family for a time of continued fellowship and refreshments at a location to be announced.
