Fredy Rene Vargas

Fredy Rene Vargas, 59, of Attleboro, MA passed away surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, February 18, 2021 at his residence following an eleven-month illness. He was the beloved husband of Vilma Leon de Vargas to whom he was married on January 5, 1980.
Born in Gualan, Guatemala on December 9, 1961, he was a son of the late Rene Vargas and the late Francisca Sosa. He immigrated to the United States 31 years ago and settled in Attleboro, MA.
Mr. Vargas was employed by Mason Box Company in North Attleboro, MA for 31 years until recently when illness forced him to stop working.
He was a futbol fan but most of all treasured the time spent with his family creating lifelong memories to cherish.
In addition to his wife, he leaves four children: Lucky Vargas and her husband, Nelson Sandoval, of Attleboro, MA; Carlos Vargas and his wife, Xiomara Lopez, of Plainville, MA; Leidy Vargas and her husband, Wilfredo Vargas, of Chicago, Illinois; and Luis Vargas and his wife, Izamar Vargas, of Attleboro, MA; four grandchildren: Dulce Nicole, Mia Alexa, Carla Xiomara, and Valeria Michelle; his siblings: Edgar Vargas in Canada; Belsy Mendez of Central Falls, RI and Maria Ipina of Providence, RI and several extended family members and friends.
With strict adherence to applicable Covid-19 health precautions, including social distancing and the use of facemasks, family and friends are cordially invited to honor Mr. Vargas by attending Visitation in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA, on Monday, February 22, 2021 from 3:00 - 7:00 PM. Due to space limitations dictated by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, extended family and friends will be invited to pay their respects and exit the chapel area.
A brief prayer service will be held during visitation.
Burial will be private.
As an expression of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mr. Vargas' name may be made to the HopeHealth Hospice and Palliative Care, 1324 Belmont Street - #202, Brockton, MA 02301.
