Frederick "Fred" H. Collins, Jr., 72, of Lucy Drive, South Attleboro, died on Sunday, May 26, 2013 at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Hospice in Providence, Rhode Island. Born in Attleboro, Massachusetts on March 12, 1941, he was a son of the late Frederick H. Collins, Sr. and Ruth M. (Gifford) Collins. He was raised and educated in Attleboro and resided in Rehoboth for ten years and in South Attleboro for the past 14 years. In earlier years, Mr. Collins attended All Saints Episcopal Church, Attleboro. He was employed as a cashier for Benny's in North Attleboro and Providence for 26 years prior to his retirement last year. He leaves his devoted and caring sister: Donna R. Mingo and her husband, Ronald E. Mingo, of Rehoboth and his cherished cockatiel, "Pal". Visitation has been respectfully omitted. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a graveside funeral service on Saturday, June 1, 2013 at 12:00 Noon at the Oak Knoll Cemetery, Tremont Street, Rehoboth with Elder Kenneth Moore of the Community of Christ Church, Orange Street, Attleboro, officiating.. Burial in the family plot will follow. Please omit flowers. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mr. Collins' name may be made to the Dyer-Lake Charitable Foundation, Inc., a registered 501 (c) 3 organization, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, North Attleboro, MA 02760 to benefit the Attleboro Animal Shelter.
