Frank J. Mendosa, Jr.

August 18, 1952 — December 20, 2016

Frank Joseph Mendosa Jr., 64, entered into rest with the Lord on Tuesday, December 20, 2016, after a lengthy illness with liver cancer. The husband of the late Gretchen (Staff) Mendosa, he was surrounded by his two children, Laura and David, and his brother, Jimmy Mendosa and his wife, Maureen, during his passing. Frank was born in Brockton, MA on August 18, 1952. He was the son of Frank J. Mendosa and Shirley A. (Gammons) Mendosa. Frank grew up in Brockton and graduated from Brockton High School, Class of 1970. He enjoyed many trips to Cape Cod and spent many summers on Wimbledon Shores Beach Association in West Yarmouth with his brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and friends. Frank had the biggest heart and always made sure the kids were content. He loved to be at the beach and taught his family how to dig clams with his feet. He enjoyed catching crabs, fishing, playing whiffle ball, horseshoes, cribbage, and was always up for a game of "horse". Frank was his son David's biggest fan and always attended every baseball game. He was a part of a large close family, and would always be the last to sit at the dinner table and the first person to do the dishes. Frank was employed as a forklift operator at Cape Cod Potato Chips Co., and also did tree removal for many years. He later worked as a plumbers' apprentice. He recently retired and met a wonderful companion who made his last years with us truly special: Eileen DeAngelis of Florida kept Frank smiling and in line. They truly complemented each other. Frank was a wonderful and caring father, brother and husband. He is survived by his children, Laura and David, and grandson Dante Gipson. He is also survived by two sisters, Sally O'Neill and Jane Benoit and their husbands Brendan and Joseph; as well as three brothers, Jack, James and Thomas, and their wives Sharon, Maureen and Deborah. He is survived by many nieces and nephews all of whom looked up to "Uncle Frankie". Frank was able to put a smile on anyone's face. He was a big part of everyone's lives and he will be dearly missed. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass on Monday, January 2, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the Saint Pius Church, Yarmouth, MA, followed by a graveside service at the Ancient Cemetery in Yarmouthport, MA.In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent in care of the Frank J.
