Frank Cruz III, 87, of Attleboro, MA passed away peacefully at HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center in Providence, Rhode Island on May 11, 2022. He was the beloved husband of the late Shirley Irene (Rock) Cruz, who passed on June 5, 2021, and to whom he was married onAugust 8, 1956.
Born in Taunton, MA on April 25, 1935, he was a son of the late Frank Cruz and the late Evelyn M. (Lorian) Cruz. He was a resident of the City of Attleboro for most of his life.
Frank was previously employed as a machinist at Ingersoll Rand in Walpole, MA and as a security guard for Stern Leach in Attleboro.
A man of strong faith, he was a longtime parishioner of the former St. Stephen's Church in Attleboro where he served as a Eucharistic Minister, and upon its closing, of Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church in Seekonk, MA.
Frank enjoyed traveling with Shirley, having explored most of the East Coast from Key West, FL into Canada. He enjoyed going out to dinner and ballroom dancing with Shirley. He held a special place in his heart for grand dogs: "Freddie" and "Hazel".
The center of Frank's world was always his family and, more than anything, he treasured spending as much time as possible with them.
Frank leaves his loving children: Deborah J. Cruz of Attleboro, MA; Frank Cruz and his wife, Tonia, of Wareham, MA; Randy R. Cruz and his wife, Karen Christianson of Plainville, MA; and Kimberly Flynn of Attleboro, MA. He was the proud and adoring grandfather of fifteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
He leaves his brother-in-law, Warren Pineo of Attleboro, MA, loving husband of Frank's late sister, Constance Pineo, and several nieces and nephews, and many dear friends.
Visitation has been respectfully omitted.
Out of an abundance of caution during the pandemic, family and friends are cordially invited to attend a graveside funeral service on Friday, May 20, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Stephen's Cemetery, South Main Street, Attleboro, MA. Burial will follow.
