Frank Raymond Barrett

Frank Raymond Barrett, 91, of Spring Street, Plainville, died on Thursday, May 28, 2015 at the Life Care Center of Attleboro. He was the husband of the his "high school sweetheart", the late Rita Marie "Cappy" (Capodanno) Barrett to whom he was married on November 11, 1946 and who died on Tuesday, July 18, 2006 . Born in North Attleboro, Massachusetts on December 19, 1923, he was a son of the late Bert and Grace (Freeman) Barrett. He was raised and educated in North Attleboro where he was a 1942 graduate of North Attleboro High School. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. Mr. Barrett was employed by Texas Instruments in Attleboro for 34 years prior to his retirement as a maintenance manager at the age of 57. He was the owner and operator of Tool Sales and Service in Plainville for ten years. Mr. Barrett moved to Plainville from his native community of North Attleboro more than 50 years ago. He was a devoted communicant of St. Martha Parish in Plainville. He had served as the president of the North Attleboro PTA many years ago and enjoyed assisting with activities and events at the First Congregational Church "Old Town" in North Attleboro and times spent at the Plainville Senior Center. He enjoyed his daily five-mile walks, nature, gardening, tent camping, taking photographs and enjoyed cruise traveling. He leaves eight children: Michael R. Barrett; Kathleen G. Jost; Jeffrey P. Barrett; Rae Marie Nardone; Daniel J. Barrett; Sharon M. Willard; Andrea Cacciapaglia and Patricia L. Ouellette; 17 grandchildren; 12, soon to be 13, great grandchildren; his companion: Irene Richardson; several nieces, nephews, several extended family members and dear friends. He was the brother of the late Ruth Adams, Bertha Thomas, Ethel Dawson and Herman, Henry, Waldo, Harold, Robert and George Barrett. Visitation has been respectfully omitted. A Memorial Service in Celebration of His Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Friends of Plainville Seniors, 9 School Street, Plainville, MA 02762.
