Francisco J. De La Rosa, 71, of Broad Street, North Attleboro, Massachusetts died on Thursday, April 3, 2014 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro, Massachusetts. He was the beloved wife of Luisa E. (Millan) De La Rosa with whom he shared 46 years of marriage following their nuptials on August 17, 1968. Born in Venezuela on November 12, 1942, he was the son of the late Antonio and Carmen (Ruiz) De La Rosa. Raised and educated in his native country, Mr. De La Rosa earned an associate's degree in electrical engineering. He was employed at P.D.V.S.A. - Petrleos de Venezuela, S.A., the Venezuelan state-owned oil and natural gas company. He immigrated to the United States and settled in North Attleboro on April 23, 2013. Mr. De La Rosa was a communicant of St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church, formerly Holy Ghost Church, on Linden Street, Attleboro. His favorite pastimes included creating lifelong memories with his family, especially his grandchildren, to cherish for a lifetime; as an avid sportsman he was a Boston Red Sox fan and enjoyed the traditional non-American soccer. He loved to follow politics and enjoyed the insight he learned to form his own political opinions. In addition to his wife of 46 years, he leaves four children: Giovanina Martinez and her husband, Luis O. Martinez, of Venezuela; Maria De La Rosa of North Attleboro; Antonio De La Rosa and his wife, Liliana De La Rosa, of Venezuela and Georgina Del Valle of North Attleboro; six grandchildren: Luis Mirtinez, Israel De La Rosa, Maria Mirtinez, Emmanuel Mirtinez and Nazareth De La Rosa all of Venezuela and Sofia De La Rosa of North Attleboro; three sisters: Eloina Campos, Olinda De La Rosa and Ines Figueroa all of Venezuela; two brothers: Luis De La Rosa and Carlos De La Rosa both of Venezuela; numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends. He was the brother of the late Emiro De La Rosa and Luisa Olivero.
