Frances Ann Roy

Frances Ann (Sczurowski) Roy, 79, of Elm Terrace, North Attleboro, died on Thursday, February 19, 2015 at Madonna Manor Nursing Home in North Attleboro where she had been a resident since January. She was the wife of the late Oliva "Ollie" J. Roy to whom she was married on August 22, 1953 and who died on February 3, 1997. Born in Providence, Rhode Island on June 4, 1935, she was a daughter of the late Francis and Mary (Simkevich) Sczurowski. She was a 1953 graduate of Pawtucket East High School. Mrs. Roy was a devoted homemaker to her family and had also been employed as a receptionist for Bristol Elder Services and had been employed at Markham Day Care, various jewelry companies and Ames Department Store. She attended both St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Church and Assembly of God both in South Attleboro. Her favorite pastimes included the time spent babysitting for her family and creating lifelong memories for her family to cherish. She enjoyed caring for her flowers and plants, making ceramics, folk painting and knitting. She leaves four daughters: Jo-Anne Dallas of Attleboro; Kim A. Monaghan of Attleboro; Paulette M. Fisher of Attleboro and Linda F. Ramaglia of Fall River; 9 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, extended family members; dear friends and her cherished Lhasa Apso, "Smokey". She was the sister of the late Joseph Sczurowski and Maryann Lomas. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation on Saturday, February 28, 2015 from 11:00 - 11:45 AM in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right, mile on the left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. Relatives and friends are welcome to attend the Funeral Service immediately following visitation at 12:00 Noon in the "Memorial Chapel". The family encourages wearing bright colors to services at Mrs. Roy's request. Burial will be private. Memorial donations may be made to the Madonna Manor Resident Activities Fund, 85 N.
