Frances Mary (Mikulski) Zal

January 22, 1927 — October 18, 2023

Frances Mary (Mikulski) Drzal, 96, of Mansfield, MA; formerly of Warren, RI; passed away on October 18, 2023, at the Village at Willow Crossing in Mansfield, MA where she had been a resident for the past ten years.  She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph W. Drzal.
Born in Warren, Rhode Island on January 22, 1927, she was the only one of 8 children to graduate from high school as she was a 1944 graduate of the former Warren High School.  She remained a resident of her native community until moving to Mansfield, MA.  She was a daughter of the late Antoni Mikulski and the late Joanna (Kendrek) Mikulski.
Mrs. Drzal was employed as a luggage inspector for American Tourister in Warren, RI for many years prior to her retirement.
Since residing in Mansfield, she was a communicant of St. Mary's Church and was a former communicant of St. Alexander Roman Catholic Church and of the former St. Casimir Roman Catholic Church both in Warren.
Proud of her Polish heritage, she enjoyed cooking Polish dishes, listening to Polish music and attending Polish picnics.  She and her husband enjoyed attending conventions forPolish-American war veterans.
She was a devout sports fan of the Boston Red Sox, Boston Bruins and the New England Patriots and enjoyed bowling, and playing softball in her earlier years.  Mrs. Drzal enjoyed reading a good romance novel.
Creating lifelong memories with her family was a special time in her heart.
Left to mourn her loss are her loving children: Patricia A. Cochrane and her husband, Paul Cochrane, of North Attleboro, MA and Michael P. Drzal and his wife, Rebecca Drzal, of Roanoke, Virginia;  her cherished grandchildren: Matthew Cochrane and his wife, Samantha Cochrane, of North Attleboro, MA; Melissa Zechello and her husband, Brian Zechello, of Raynham, MA; Katherine Rice and her husband, Evan Rice, of Troutville, Virginia; and Christopher Drzal and his wife, Stephanie Drzal, of Thornton, Colorado; her beloved great grandchildren: Brooke and Juliana Zechello of Raynham, MA; Cooper, Cecilia and Charlie Cochrane of North Attleboro, MA and Reagan, Emery and Anderson Rice of Troutville, Virginia.  She also leaves three generations of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Drzal was the sister of the late Bertha Boulanger, Chester Mikulski, Rose Bean, Josephine Stocklinski, Eleanor Bouchard, Frank Mikulski and Alexander Mikulski.
Family and friends are welcome to attend Visitation on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA.
All are welcome to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, October 26, 2023, at 10:00 am at the Transfiguration of the Lord Parish - St. Mark, Stanley Street, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA.
Burial will follow in St. Mary of the Bay Cemetery, Warren, Rhode Island.
The family extends their gratitude to the Village at Willow Crossing, First Choice Hospice, and Sturdy Memorial Hospital for their compassionate care.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mrs. Drzal's name may be made to either Dana Farber Cancer Institute or to the Sturdy Foundation.
