Felipe "Benny" Benicio Teixeira, 67, of Attleboro, MA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 22, 2019 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro after a nine-month illness. He was the beloved husband of Connie V. (Vasconcelos) Teixeira, to whom he was married on July 4, 1981.
Born on August 30, 1952 in Sao Paulo, Brazil, he was the son of the late Jose R. Teixeira and the late Augusta E. (Serras) Teixeira.
Raised and educated in Brazil, he came to the United States and settled in Attleboro in 1972 where he was a longtime member of St. Vincent de Paul Parish.
Prior to his retirement, Benny worked as an Assistant Maintenance Manager at Ellis Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in Norwood, MA, having previously been employed in the shipping department at Sterngold Dental in Attleboro for five years, and at the former Englehard Industries in Plainville for fifteen years.
Benny loved being with his family and especially treasured spending time saltwater fishing off the rocks at Sakonnet Point in Tiverton, RI with his son. He was an ardent sports fan, particularly of the New England Patriots; loved classic cars; and along with Connie, he adored the community of Bristol, RI. He enjoyed watching re-runs of The Andy Griffith Show and The Gomer Pyle Show. Benny will be remembered for his meticulous care of his yard and property.
In addition to his wife, Connie, he leaves his loving son, Kevin Felipe Teixeira of Attleboro and his significant other, Denise M. Dimaio of North Attleboro, MA. Benny was the dear brother of Maria Ines (Teixeira) Vivieros of Attleboro; Jose A. Teixeira of Attleboro; Luiz Teixeira of Mashpee, MA; and Vincent "Paul" Teixeira of Rehoboth, MA. He leaves several nieces, nephews, his extended family, and many good friends.
A Private Memorial Visitation followed by a Celebration of Life Service will be held in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA.
