Evelyn Mae (Goddard) Maynard, 73, of Washington Street, Plainville; died on Saturday, March 19, 2005 at the Brigham & Women?s Hospital in Boston. She was the wife of the late Roland James Maynard to whom she was married on October 17, 1975 and who died on January 19, 2004. Born in West Mansfield, Massachusetts on August 13, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Charles D. Goddard and Genevieve E. (Mowry) Hunter. Mrs. Maynard resided in Plainville for the past 14 years having previously been a resident of both Mansfield and Norton. She was a 1949 graduate of Mansfield High School. Mrs. Maynard was employed at the former Krew, Inc. in Attleboro for many years prior to her retirement in 1992 as the floor lady of the soldering department. Her most treasured times were those spent in the company of family and friends as she would open her home as a ?gathering place? for all. She enjoyed taking cruises, reading, bird watching, spending time in her yard, solving jigsaw puzzles and an occasional trip to the casino. Mrs. Maynard had a long love for cats and was particularly dedicated to her dear friend, ?Lucy? in recent years. She leaves four daughters: Diane L. Paul of Nova Scotia, Canada; Judy A. Phillinger of Norton; Diane A. Garcia of San Diego, California and Karen M. Koziol of North Smithfield, Rhode Island; three sons: Steven M. Carter of Fresno, California; Richard S. Carter of Taunton and David L. Carter of Attleboro; 9 grandchildren; four sisters: Ruth F. Staples of Attleboro; Helen M. Baker of Plainville; Lillian N. Briggs of Mansfield and Genevieve E. Ronhock of Plainville; three brothers: Thomas R. Goddard of South Attleboro; Raymond E. Goddard of Mansfield and James R. Goddard of North Attleboro and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Donald Goddard and George Goddard. Page One of Two Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 23, 2005, from 4:00 ? 7:00 PM in the ?Commonwealth Chapel? of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. A Prayer Service will be held on Wednesday, March 23, 2005 at 7:00 PM at the conclusion of visitation in the ?Commonwealth Chapel? of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. An invitation will be extended to join family and friends for a time of fellowship and refreshment following prayer services. Relatives and friends will be cordially invited to attend a graveside funeral service to be held next month in Shepardville Cemetery, Route 152 ? Taunton Street, Plainville on a date and at a time to be announced once the cemetery opens for Spring burials. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to either the American Diabetes Memorial Program, P.O. Box 2680, North Canton OH 44720 or to the American Heart and Stroke Association, 20 Speen Street Framingham, MA 01701-4688. Children?s room available during visitation and prayer service.
