Evelyn Delores (James) Chapman, 87, of South Easton, passed away on Monday, February 24, 2014 at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. She was the wife of the late Francis James Chapman, who died on December 29, 2001, and to whom she was married on May 10, 1952 in West Point, NY. Born in Fall River, MA on July 10, 1926; she was the daughter of the late Francis and Sarah E (McNamara) James. Mrs. Chapman was a graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School and Newport Hospital School of Nursing. She was employed as an R.N. at I.M.H. in Cranston prior to her retirement. Mrs. Chapman was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling, whether it be just a day trip or vacationing in Europe. Her favorite pastime was walking the street and beaches of Wickford, RI. Evelyn is survived by her daughters: Carol A. Paris, of South Easton and Nancy J. Peltier, of Woonsocket, RI. She also leaves her two grandchildren: Benjamin J. Paris and Ashley R. Paris. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend a memorial visitation on Friday, February 28, 2014 from 6:00-7:30 PM and funeral services immediately following visitation at 7:30 PM in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right, mile on the left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro.
