Evelyn Louise Austin

Evelyn Louise (Tyner) Austin, 92, of Pleasant Street, Attleboro; formerly of Canterbury Woods; died on Saturday, August 17, 2013 at the Golden Living Center - Garden Place. She was the wife of the late Charles P. Austin who died in 1970. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on November 10, 1920, she was a daughter of the late Sidney and Beatrice (Mills) Tyner. Prior to moving to Attleboro, Mrs. Austin resided in Medway for twenty years and raised her family in Natick where she lived for many years. She was a 1938 graduate of the Jeremiah E. Burke High School in the Dorchester section of Boston. In earlier years, Mrs. Austin was employed by the Natick School Department Lunch Program; was a receptionist for Liberty Mutual Insurance Company and was employed as a clerk in the engineering department of the former Bell Telephone prior to her retirement. She attended Grace Episcopal Church in North Attleboro. Among her favorite pastimes, were traveling and participating in walking clubs but she most treasured time spent with her family creating lifelong memories to cherish. She leaves two children: Charles F. Austin and his wife, Maryetta Austin, of Fort Wayne, Indiana and Lorraine P. Allard, wife of the late Robert M. Allard who died in 2004, of North Attleboro; four granchdilren: Wayne Austin of San Diego, California; Kerry Caracciolo of North Attleboro; Tracy Sousa of New Bedford and Carla McDonald of Oxford; seven great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; a sister: Phyllis White of Chandler, Arizona and several extended family members. She was the sister of the late Sidney Tyner. Visitation has been respectfully omitted. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend a Service of Thanksgiving and Remembrance on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at 10:00 AM in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the nationally historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right, mile on the left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. Children's room available during the funeral service. Burial will follow in Blue Hills Cemetery, Braintree. Following cemetery services an invitation will be extended to join the family for a time of continued fellowship and refreshments at a location to be announced in the Braintree area. Please omit flowers. Memorial donations in Mrs. Austin's name may be made to the Dyer-Lake Charitable Foundation, Inc., a registered 501 (c) 3 organization, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, North Attleboro, MA 02760 to benefit the Alzheimner's Association.
