Eve Yiah (Tam) Yip, 84, of Attleboro, MA, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 30, 2019 at Norwood Hospital in Norwood, MA. She was the beloved wife of the late Sampson Pakshing Yip, to whom she was married on December 2, 1963 and who died on January 4, 2018.
Born on October 20, 1935 in Taishan, China, she was the daughter of the late Tommy Tom and the late Fong (Lee) Tom.
Raised and educated in China, where she graduated from college, she worked as an elementary school teacher in Hong Kong until moving to the United States in 1984 and to Attleboro in 1986.She then worked from many years at Arts Cleaners in North Attleboro before retiring.
Eve cherished her role as a homemaker for her family, who was the center of her world. She was a lover of Chinese Opera, enjoyed playing Mahjong and Bingo, and was an ardent basketball fan, especially of the Los Angeles Lakers. Eve loved knitting, and every year she enjoyed knitting Christmas gifts for loved ones and good friends.
She was the loving mother of Jenny C. Siede and her husband, Wolfram C. Siede, of Ft. Worth, Texas; Hester C. Yip of Ft. Worth, Texas; and Stanley C. Yip and his wife, Emmy S. (Sonn) Yip, of Attleboro, MA. She was the proud and adoring grandmother of Alex C. Siede of Texas, and Emily K. Yip and Eric B. Yip, both of Attleboro, MA. Eve was the sister of Philip Tom of California and the late Nancy Chan. She leaves many dear friends.
Friends and family are cordially invited to attend a Graveside Service at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, September 6, 2019 at North Purchase Cemetery, 825 North Main Street, Attleboro, MA, at which time Eve will be laid to rest alongside her dear late husband, Sampson.
