Eva A. (Rochette) St. James, 92, formerly of Canterbury Woods, Garfield Avenue, Attleboro and South Main Street, Attleboro; died surround by her family on Sunday, September 16, 2012 at the Golden Living Center - Garden Place, Pleasant Street, Attleboro; where she had been a resident since June. She was the beloved wife of the late Eugene St. James to whom she was married on June 6, 1942 and died on July 6, 1979. Born in Winnipegosis, Manitoba, Canada on May 26, 1920, she was a daughter of the late Alphonse A. and Blanche (Mouillierat) Rochette. Upon immigrating to the United States, Mrs. St. James settled in Central Falls, Rhode Island as a young child and resided there from 1924 until 1943 when she moved to Norton. She resided in Norton until moving to Attleboro in 1970. She was a caring communicant of the former St. Stephen Roman Catholic Church. Mrs. St. James was employed as a bench worker for Texas Instruments in Attleboro for 28 years prior to her retirement in 1983. After retirement she enjoyed traveling with family to Dennisport, Eastham, Pennsylvania, San Diego, Virginia Beach, Orlando and went on her first cruise when she was 80. She leaves three children: Yvonne Simkins of Eastham; Irene Erwin and her husband, Robert "Jack" Erwin, of Attleboro and Theresa "Terri" Murphy and her husband, Dennis Murphy, of Plainville; five grandsons: Timothy Simkins and his wife, Amy, of Eastham; Thomas Simkins and his wife, Theresa, of Harwich; Robert Erwin and his wife, Maura, of Pottstown, Pennsylvania; William Erwin and his wife, Tara, of Attleboro and Dennis Murphy of Plainville; six great grandsons and five great granddaughters; a brother: Joseph Rochette and his wife, Peggy, of Riverside, Rhode Island; two nieces; three nephews and several extended family members. She was the sister of the late Rita M. J. Gaboriault, Ovila M. Rochette, Mary J. Carvalho and Frances G. Rochette. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation on Monday morning, October 1, 2012 from 8:30 - 9:30 AM in the "Commonwealth Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 133 North Main Street - Route 152, Attleboro with the Rev. Richard Wilson, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket, Rhode Island.
