Eva Beatrice (Desilets) Anderson, 93, of Attleboro, MA, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, July 21, 2016 at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, RI. She was the beloved wife of the late Herbert Charles James Anderson who died in July 2000.Born on October 3, 1922 in North Attleboro, MA, she was the daughter of the late John Desilets and the late Emelianna (Roy) Desilets.Raised and educated in North Attleboro, Eva was a graduate of North Attleboro High School, Class of 1940, and lived in Attleboro for more than sixty years where she and Herbert raised their family. In the early 1940's, Eva worked at her uncle's store on Eddy Street in North Attleboro. She then worked at the former Attleboro Coal Company where she met husband. Eva worked for more than ten years at Kmart in Attleboro later on in her life. She always proudly valued her role as mother and homemaker for her seven children, and treasured time spent with her large family, especially her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, each of whom had a special place in her heart.Her church played an important role in Eva's life. She was actively involved as a member of Evangelical Covenant Church in Attleboro, MA, where she taught Bible studies, frequently helped in the preparation and serving of church meals for the homeless and those in need, and, for many years, organized most of the gatherings at church following funeral services. She also enjoyed crocheting. A skilled and loving cook, Eva authored her own cookbook, and often wrote articles and posted recipes in the newspaper. She will be sorely missed by her beloved children: James "Olie" Anderson and his wife, Karen J. Anderson, of Laconia, NH; Nancy A. (Anderson) Richardson and her husband, William "Rick" Richardson, of Mansfield, MA; Susan M. Anderson and her husband, Wendell G. Anderson, of Sandwich, MA; Sandra M. Anderson of Arlington, TX; Roy R. Anderson and his wife, Pamela C. Anderson, of Sandwich, MA; William H. Anderson of Hopkinton, MA; and Jeff D. Anderson and his wife, Pamela E. Anderson, of Weare, NH. Eva was the mother of the late Thomas W. Anderson. She also leaves her sisters: Esther (Desilets) Davignon and Irene (Desilets) Midon, both of North Attleboro, MA; and was predeceased by four brothers and two sisters. Eva leaves eighteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren, all of whom she cherished, and was looking forward to the birth of a new great-grandson. Eva leaves numerous nieces and nephews and many dear friends.Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a Funeral Service on Saturday, July 23, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Evangelical Covenant Church, 841 North Main Street, Route 152, Attleboro; and from Noon - 1:45 p.m. will have the opportunity for a brief Viewing prior to entering the Sanctuary.
