Ethel Freda Simpson, 78, of South Attleboro, MA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at Life Care Center of Attleboro in Attleboro.  She was the beloved wife of the late George "Butch" R. Simpson, who died on December 6, 2006.
Born on January 25, 1941 in Lewiston, ME, she was the daughter of the late Bernard Spencer and the late Ida Russell. She was a resident of Attleboro for the past four years, having previously lived in North Attleboro.
A woman of great faith, she was a devoted and loving mother and homemaker for her family. She especially loved painting, as well as crocheting, playing Scrabble and Bingo, being involved in activities at Life Care Center, and Bible study. More than anything, she cherished spending time with her family and her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Ethel was the loving mother of Bernard James Simpson and his companion, Carole A. McKeon, of Cumberland, RI; Richard Drew Simpson and his wife, Pamela (Araujo) Simpson, of Dayville, CT; and Timothy Raymond Simpson and his companion, Jill A. Ohlson and her sons, Jeremy Adam Ohlson and Jake Mathieu Ohlson, of Attleboro, MA. She was the adoring grandmother of Stephanie Simpson, Bethany Simpson, Hillary Simpson, Alyssa Simpson, and Zackary R. Simpson; and the proud great-grandmother of seven great-grandchildren.  Ethel was predeceased by two sisters and one brother, and leaves several nieces and nephews and many dear friends.
Friends and relatives are cordially invited to honor and remember Ethel by gathering for a Visitation on Monday, February 4, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. in the Memorial Chapel of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA, immediately followed by a Funeral Service at 7:00 p.m. at Dyer-Lake Funeral Home.
