Ethel "Toots" Janet Zenk, 78, of North Attleboro, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at the Madonna Manor Nursing Home in North Attleboro, MA. She was the loving and beloved wife of the late Edwin Zenk, to whom she was married for more than forty-eight years, and who passed away several days earlier on December 11, 2015. Born on July 22, 1937 in East Springfield, Pennsylvania, she was a daughter of Kenneth Burdette Ruland and Florence Lydia Ruland. She was an elementary school teacher, first in Millcreek, PA for three years, and then in Waterford, CT for five years. After teaching thirty-one years in the Attleboro Public School System, she retired in 1998. Toots and her husband made their home in North Attleboro since 1968, and attended Good News Bible Chapel in Attleboro. She was an avid reader, and loved games of all kinds, particularly board games and playing cards. She enjoyed gardening, traveling the world with her husband, and simply spending time with him. She is survived by her siblings: Leila "Polly" (Ruland) Olsen; Clifford "Slim" Ruland; Bonnie "Cherry" (Ruland) Applebee; Nancy "Pudge" (Ruland) Walker; Marian Elizabeth (Ruland) Wheeler; Martha "Lou" (Ruland) Forsythe; Beth Ann (Ruland) Adams; and Paul "Pete" Ruland; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Edward "Ike" Ruland; Leslie "Bud" Ruland; David Jess Ruland; Larry "Mike" Ruland; and Earl Dennis Ruland. Visitation has respectfully been omitted.
