Ernest Gosing Woo

Ernest Gosing Woo, 97, of Elmhurst, New York, passed away unexpectedly at his residence on September 4, 2024. He was the beloved husband of the late Mai Kathryn (Shang) Woo to whom he was married on February 19, 1950.
Born in China on January 21, 1927, he was a son of Mow Sing Woo and the late Dea Hong Gim. He was raised and educated in his native China and immigrated to the United States in 1947 and became a United States citizen in 1963.
An excellent chef of his native Chinese cuisine he was associated with restaurants in the New York City area for many years prior to his retirement.
He was the father of Ronald Ermest Woo of Elmhurst, New York and the late Kenneth Terrance Woo died earlier this year.
Mr. Woo was the brother of Sonny Woo and Richard Woo both in California; uncle of Steven Woo in California.
