Ernest George LeBlanc, 55, of Bank Street, Attleboro, died unexpectedly on Monday, July 4, 2011 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro following a period of declining health. Born in Attleboro, Massachusetts on November 5, 1955, he was the son of Patricia (Sill) LeBlanc of Wrentham and the late Ernest George LeBlanc, Sr. He grew up in Wrentham and then resided most of his life in Attleboro. As a child he loved exploring in the woods, going fishing, swimming and boating as well as sliding down ski ramps that he built in the yard. Mr. LeBlanc previously worked at the Attleboro Public Library, also as a home health care worker on Nantucket Island and most recently a prep cook for the Tournament Players Club the T.P.C. in Norton until he became ill. Mr. LeBlanc was an ardent photographer and he most enjoyed seeing the sunrise, he became an avid coin collector modeled after his parents and their family business, The Hobby Hut on Bank Street in Attleboro, he was a Scrabble champ and enjoyed solving jigsaw puzzles. He treasured the time spent on Nantucket and in Maine, Vermont and New Hampshire. He will be most remembered for his handsome grin, big blue eyes and his desire to put others above himself, as he was always willing to help anyone in need. In addition to his mother, he leaves a daughter: Kathryn LeBlanc currently residing in Woonsocket, Rhode Island formerly of North Attleboro, Massachusetts; two sisters: Patricia Markey of Milton, New Hampshire and Virginia Garner of Pawtucket, Rhode Island; his best friend Richard Astacio of Attleboro, Massachusetts; several nieces, nephews, extended family members, roommates and dear friends. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation on Friday, July 8, 2011 from 5:00 8:00 PM in the Memorial Chapel of Dyer-Lake Funeral Home the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, mile on left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. Those in need of a ride to visitation may call the funeral home at (508) 695-0200 to make an advance reservation for such gratis transportation. Transportation will leave the Hobby Hut parking lot, 47 Bank Street, Attleboro on Friday, July 8, 2011 promptly at 6:00 PM to bring passengers directly to visitation. Transportation will depart the funeral home at 7:30 PM to return to the Hobby Hut parking lot, 47 Bank Street, Attleboro. However, advance reservations must be made for this service in order to accommodate all requests. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, July 9, 2011 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, Park Street, North Attleboro with Rev. David A. Costa, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Marys Cemetery, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. Childrens room available during visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Dyer-Lake Charitable Foundation, Inc., a registered 501 (c) 3 organization, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, North Attleboro, MA 02760 to benefit the Food n Friends program of the Attleboro Area Council of Churches.
