Ernest A. Lawrence, Jr., 82, of Attleboro, MA passed away on Sunday, April 21, 2024, at HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center in Providence, Rhode Island. He was the beloved husband of the late Dorothy "Dot" Helen (Curran) Lawrence to whom he was married on February 22, 1973, and entered into eternal rest on April 14, 2018.
Born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island on August 13, 1941, he was a son of the late Ernest A. Lawrence, Sr. and the late Annette (LaPalme) Lawrence. Raised and educated in his native community of Pawtucket, he was a graduate of Tolman High School and later earned his degree in electrical engineering.
He proudly served in the United States Air Force for 8 years.
Mr. Lawrence was employed as an electrical engineer for the Raytheon Corporation for many years prior to his retirement.
He was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church, Attleboro, MA.
Ernest treasured the time spent in the company of family and friends and will be remembered for being a keen chess player and a proud Veteran.
He leaves his children: Janis H. DeValles of Fairhaven, MA; William E. Fitzgerald and his wife, Rhonda, of Marston Mills, MA ; Patrick T. Fitzgerald of Attleboro, MA; Theresa M. Lawrence of North Providence, RI; Linda M. Doiron and her husband, Joseph R. Doiron, of Southbridge, MA; Kathleen P. Natareno and her husband, Jose Natareno, of Cranston, RI; Sandra A. Applegate and her husband, Darren Mitchell of North Providence, RI; Cheryl A. Al-Sasah and her husband, Bilal Al-Sasah of North Providence, RI and John W. Lawrence of Pawtucket, RI; 24 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; his sister: Patricia Dubuc and her husband, Michael Dubuc, of Attleboro, MA; nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation with Veteran's Honors on Friday, April 26, 2024, from 9:00 am until 11:00 am in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am in the "Memorial Chapel".
Burial with military honors will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Attleboro, MA.
